  • 200 g cheddar or mozzarella cheese, shredded (7 oz)

Method

Preparation of Dough
  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk, warm water, dry yeast, and sugar. Stir and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add oil and salt, gradually incorporate flour, mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Gather the dough into a ball, cover, and let rest for 15 minutes.
  4. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, place in a greased bowl, cover, and let ferment for 40 minutes.
Shaping the Rolls
  1. Punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, shape into balls, and let rest briefly.
  2. Roll each ball into a thin circle, stack them with a melted butter-oil mixture brushed between layers. Let rest for 15 minutes.
  3. Shape the dough into a rectangle and cut it into 12 pieces.
  4. Place cheese in the center, roll up, and seal the edges.
  5. Arrange the rolls seam-side down on a greased tray, cover, and ferment for 15 minutes.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Brush the tops with egg yolk.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes
