Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (356°F) and prepare a baking tray with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter together with the powdered sugar until you have a smooth, creamy consistency.
- Add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt to the bowl, mixing well to combine the flavors.
- Gradually add the all-purpose flour while kneading the mixture until a smooth dough forms.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle and pipe small roses or stars onto the prepared baking tray.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the cookies turn lightly golden brown.
- Let the pastries cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Decoration
- While they are cooling, melt the dark chocolate in a water bath or microwave. Once melted, dip the ends of the pastries into the chocolate.
- Allow the pastries to cool on a wire rack until the chocolate hardens.
Notes
These pastries can be served with tea or coffee, and are great with fresh berries or whipped cream. You can also add different extracts or citrus zest for flavor variations.
