Ingredients

Potatoes and Seasonings
  • 500 g 500g (about 1 lb) potatoes Use starchy potatoes like Russets or waxy types like Yukon Golds.
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder Feel free to mix in other seasonings for extra flavor.
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish Adds a beautiful touch when serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Peel the potatoes and slice them into wedges, trying to keep them roughly the same size for even cooking.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the potato wedges with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss everything together until the potatoes are well coated.
  4. Lay the potato wedges out on a baking sheet in a single layer. Make sure they have some space between them for proper crisping.
Cooking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through to ensure they get golden and crispy on all sides.
  2. Once done, take them out of the oven and sprinkle fresh parsley on top before serving.

Notes

For a crispier finish, place the potatoes under the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes of cooking. Cut the potatoes evenly to ensure they cook consistently. You can prepare the wedges in advance and keep them in the fridge before baking.
