Ingredients

Cookie Dough
  • 400 g all-purpose flour About 3 ¼ cups
  • 300 g marzipan About 10.5 oz
  • 100 g powdered sugar About 1 cup
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 pinch salt
Filling and Topping
  • 1 jar Raspberry jam For filling
  • to taste Powdered sugar For dusting

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the flour, marzipan, powdered sugar, eggs, and salt. Mix until all the ingredients are well combined.
  2. Knead the dough thoroughly until it becomes smooth. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate it for 30 to 60 minutes.
Baking
  1. After chilling, take the dough out of the fridge and form small balls. Place these on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  2. Gently flatten the balls and use your thumb to create heart-shaped indentations in the center.
  3. Bake the cookies in a preheated oven at 200°C (about 400°F) for about 10 to 12 minutes, or until they turn golden brown.
  4. Allow the cookies to cool down. Meanwhile, heat the raspberry jam and fill the indentations in the cookies with it.
Serving
  1. Dust the cookies with powdered sugar and let the jam dry for about 1 to 2 hours before storing them in an airtight container.

Notes

Make sure to knead the dough well for a smooth texture. You can experiment with different types of fruit jams such as strawberry or apricot.
