Ingredients

For the truffles
  • 150 g shredded coconut – flaked or desiccated Use either flaked or desiccated coconut.
  • 175 g sweetened condensed milk
  • 25 g powdered milk About 3 tablespoons.
  • 180 g semi-sweet chocolate coating or chocolate chips Can substitute with dark chocolate for a richer flavor.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the shredded coconut and powdered milk. Mix well with a spatula until evenly blended.
  2. Gradually add the sweetened condensed milk to the coconut mixture, starting with about half. Mix thoroughly, then knead with your hands until the mixture holds together well.
  3. Shape small portions of the mixture into balls, about 2.5 cm in diameter, and place them on a plate lined with parchment paper.
Coating
  1. Melt the chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each session until the chocolate is smooth and fully melted.
  2. Dip each coconut ball into the melted chocolate, ensuring complete coverage. Place the chocolate-coated truffles on a silicone mat or a fresh piece of parchment paper.
  3. For a decorative touch, drizzle additional melted chocolate over the truffles and sprinkle with a bit more shredded coconut.
Setting
  1. Let the truffles set at room temperature for around 30 minutes or refrigerate for about 15 minutes until the chocolate hardens.

Notes

Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week. Experiment with flavors by adding vanilla extract or almond essence, and mix in dried fruits or nuts for variety.
