Preparation
- Start by peeling and cutting the apples into large pieces. Sprinkle them with lemon juice to keep them fresh and flavorful.
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs until they are frothy and light.
- Add the sugar and vanilla extract to the eggs, then beat until the mixture is smooth.
- Melt the butter and mix it into the egg mixture. After that, stir in the yogurt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the flour and baking powder together until evenly mixed.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently to combine everything without overmixing.
Baking
- Grease a baking dish with a little butter or cooking spray, then pour about 2/3 of the batter into the dish, spreading it evenly.
- Arrange the apple pieces over the batter, making sure they are evenly distributed. Pour the remaining batter on top to cover the apples.
- Preheat your oven to 180 degrees C (360 degrees F) and bake for about 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Once baked, brush the warm pie with peach or apricot jam for a shiny, sweet finish. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Apple pie is best served warm, alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon for extra flavor. Mix different apple types for added taste. Use store-bought crust to save time. Consider adding spices like cinnamon or nutmeg for enhanced apple flavor.
